I've always been a thin guy who didn't take working out very seriously. I got very sick about a year and a half ago and I lost even more weight. I weighed about 115lbs and was about 5'11". After that I started taking working out and gaining weight more seriously. I watched my diet to a degree, but mostly just aimed for protein, carbs, and fat in every meal not worrying about what it was coming from. I now weigh in around 160 to 170lbs and I'm the same height (22 yo). I have a much more notable amount of muscle with some definition on my triceps and chest which I've been very happy about.

Recently I've been noticing a gut starting on my lower belly/abs. I've been called "skinny fat" a couple times which has discouraged me and put me in a on and off state with the gym the past 2 months. I want to start taking working out even more seriously than I ever have to correct this problem, but also because I still have a long way to go. I still can't bench my body weight (probably because I don't apply a lot of progressive overload). I want to be able to do pull ups and dips which I still can't do. I know I probably need to lose some fat, but I don't know where to begin. I've never really done cardio outside of sports. I also want to gain size and muscle. Particularly in my biceps, pecs (especially lower pecs), and my shoulders need a lot of work. So, basically I'm a position where I need to gain size, lose fat, and gain strength.

I was wondering if I could get any advice on what sort of program to start or build? Also what I should be eating? I currently weigh 160lbs and I'm aiming to work out 5 days a week. I guess my end goal would be to stay around the same weight range maybe a little more maintaining a slim, but clearly muscular body. I know that it will likely take a lot of time, but I'm willing to put in the work. I still feel like I have a lot to learn so any advice would be appreciated.
