Hang barbell from ceiling for pull ups?
Hang barbell from ceiling for pull ups? radrd
First off, this idea is for fun and variety, not out of necessity. I already have a regular pull up bar in my garage, fat bar on my rack, and gymnastics rings. I also already have all of the hardware below, so there's no investment other than putting the holes in my ceiling. As long as none of the hardware fails and/or I get hurt, this will be a success. Thoughts?
I use these swing hangers for my gymnastics rings with no issues, though I haven't tested with anything more than my 190 lbs body weight.

The lag screws that come with the hangers are decent but I swapped them out for with these ledger locks for my gymnastics rings and would do so again.

These climbing carabiners are light and rated for a lot of weight. I got one from Rogue with a cable attachment and tracked down a supplier.

Never really got into chain work much but the welds on these collars look really beefy and I think they'll hold fine.
